The EAL SVQ Electrical Manufacture at SCQF Level 6 has been designed to allow a learner to evidence their competence in completing engineering tasks related to their job role. The assessment routes within the qualification have been developed from the relevant National Occupational Standards developed and published by Enginuity, the sector skills council for the engineering sector.
This qualification is one of the Sector Specific SVQ Level 6 Mandatory Enhancement qualifications in the Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering Framework at SCQF Level 6.
In order to achieve this qualification each learner will be required to attain all mandatory assessment routes and the required number of optional assessment routes within the relevant pathway as detailed within the qualification specific information in section 4.0 of the qualification Manual.
The pathways are: Manufacturing Electrical Control Systems Equipment; Testing Electrical Equipment.
The overall grading type for this qualification is Pass/Fail. Assessment routes will be assessed and endorsed against the learners chosen discipline. Learners will be required to create a Portfolio of Evidence to prove their competence in the workplace. Learners should therefore select the assessment routes that reflect the job roles they carry out in the workplace to be able to obtain the required workplace evidence.
Learners will be assessed in relation to their chosen discipline and endorsed accordingly. The endorsement will be printed on the certificate to show future employers which discipline was covered during their assessment.
Learners should be employed in a job role where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow them to gather the required workplace evidence.
