The EAL Level 3 SVQ in Rail Engineering: Electrification Construction Maintenance at SCQF Level 6 is a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ). It involves the skills and knowledge needed to work within Rail Engineering Electrification Construction Maintenance at SCQF Level 6, including the ability to prepare to undertake duties and to contribute to safe working practices, plan electrification activities and carry out technical assessment of electrification and plant. Optional units include carrying out installation, transferring responsibility, carrying out maintenance, monitoring resources and isolation requirements.
The minimum age for entry is 16. This qualification is for individuals who work in the rail engineering industry and need recognition of their competence in Electrification Construction Maintenance and also need a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF level 6 or individuals who wish to complete a Modern Apprenticeship in rail engineering or those who are new to railway engineering Electrification Construction Maintenance but are looking for a career change and wish to develop and expand on their existing skills within the rail engineering industry.
