The EAL Level 2 Diploma in Practical Engineering qualification covers the specific knowledge and understanding of a range of practical engineering disciplines. The qualification covers the intermediate knowledge, understanding and skills that are required by someone working in the engineering sector. This qualification provides the opportunity for the learner to take a practical approach to developing skills and knowledge in a range of chosen engineering disciplines such as fitting, welding, additive manufacturing etc as well as to introduce learners to topics within the context of an engineering environment to include health & safety, communication, working effectively and individual rights & responsibilities.
The qualification is achieved when all the necessary units have been completed.
The centre will then be able to apply for the learner’s certificate of achievement. The learners will also receive a certificate of unit credit, listing all the units they have achieved.
This must be used in conjunction with the delivery and assessment of any individual units to ensure that assessment requirements and methodologies are consistently applied.
This qualification has been developed to offer appropriate practical qualification for secondary schools who are currently offering the Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) to learners under 16.
The minimum age for registration is 14.
