EAL Level 1 Certificate in Practical Construction Operations

The EAL Level 1 Certificate in Practical Construction Operations is a Vocational Related Qualification (VRQ). The content and structure of the qualification have been developed to provide 14-16, 16-18 and 19+ learners with an introduction to a trade or a variety of trades within the construction industry. It allows the learner to acquire the essential knowledge of health and safety in a construction environment and fundamental knowledge and skills of a trade or trades within the construction sector and introduces the following trades: Plumbing Operations, Electrical Operations, Plastering Operations, Brickwork Operations, Building Operations, Carpentry and Joinery Operations, Painting and Decorating Operations, Tiling Operations, Flooring Operations, Maintenance Operations and Construction Operations.

It also takes a hands-on approach to basic construction operations by providing learners with knowledge and skills of potential careers and apprenticeships in the construction sector giving them information that will help them make more informed decisions about their post-16 options and personal skills to help them work effectively and achieve their potential.
